In photoshop, importing the eps, select the whole eps, go to select => color range and set fuzziness to 200, then use the edit => fill command to fill the color of your choosing. Should work well too.

Or you can use the layer blending option "color overlay". When you've developed some photoshop-fu skills, you can easily make that a macro

Hi all, I'm still trying to figure out how to change the background of say a white or black eps logo
to try and make it be transparent so I do not have to spend the time and go through all the trouble
of trying to erase the background from it if I'm using it on another colored background that doesn't
match. I know some of the eps logos I have already have a transparent background but some of the
other ones I've DL have either a white or black background on them. So I guess my question would be
is there a way to do it in Photoshop 7 or is there another program that will let you open and save an
eps with a transparent background. Question

In PS 7.............. GO TO........IMAGE........then down to
ADJUSTMENTS.........then down to invert
INVERT

That'll do it.

If the EPS is truley vector based open it in Adobe Illustrator
Then all you have to do is:

Select your logo
Go to the option OBJECT on your top left and select Expand and then Ungroup.

Now you can select the background and delete it!
Save the eps and the background is transparant when you open it in Adobe Photoshop/

ok...this one worked...sorta.

i was able to change it to white....but the back ground stays clear in eps. but when i save it, in order to use in PSP9, it blends all the layers and becomes totally white. it's an easy fix this time, as i'm working with a black background. but can i have it remain clear backround???

thanks!!!!

You can aslo change the colors of .eps files by using the image/adjustments/selective color option in Photoshop. The native .eps color is black, just go to the black channel and drop it all the way back to -100, then you can increase or decrease the other color channels to get your desired color.

Oh yeah, you can gradually bring the black channel back up a bit if needed.

Just remember your settings if you are going to do several logos and want them all to be of the same color.

Have Fun! Smile
