PSP9 - How to color replace a selected area only

say i want to change all BLACK to RED in one certain area...not affecting another area that has black. how do i do that?

Use the color replacer tool (Paintbucket icon). Just load the new color in the color window and adjust the tolerance level to suit. I use PSP8, hopefully it is similar and the advice works.

It's nice to see another Paintshop pro. user... I use Paintshop Pro.9 and also Coral Paintshop Pro.10... I do have Adobe Photoshop CS2 also, but I find that more difficult to get to grips with... Smile

I also have Photoshop CS2, but after using PSP it is a little hard to convert over. The way I look at it is, if you are happy with what your using and it doesn't limit what you are trying to accomplish, why learn a new language? So to speak.

i was just looking back at some posts and since i figured this out, i figured i'd post it.

use the magic wand to select the specific area. then use the color changer. that will allow you to change the colors in the selected area only.
