Shamelessly stolen from SD
Quote:
Just got a legal notice in the mail today. Class action lawsuit against Epson because their printers would notify user that ink cartridge was empty when it wasn't and halting use of printer forcing them to buy a new cartridge. They have agreed to settle to avoid fees. If you purchased an Epson on or after April 8, 1999 to May 8, 2006 then you qualify. You can receive a $45 dollar credit to the Epson estore as part of the settlement. There is an alternative to receive a $20 check and $25 credit to the estore or 25% of an estore purchase up tp $100 dollars.

Go to www.epsonsettlement.com to see if your printer qualifies.
To register a printer go to www.epsonstore.com/benefitsreg

I automatically got my estore code because I registered my product. If some of you haven't because of fear of unk mail then register your printer and you will get $45 coupon for EACH printer.

Sorry, US only

Thanks for the info. I qualify. Very Happy So how do you fix it so it doesn't tell you to replace your cartridge too early?

Had that happen on my girlfriends Epson I just replaced the cyan cart
today and the one I took out was still full only a few days old. The printer
just showed it as being empty with a big red X when checking the ink level. Evil or Very Mad
hmmm..... come to think of it the black cart did the same thing a few months
ago only it was about three weeks old and I got on to her for using so much
ink so quickly and she said she hadn't printed all that much and it still felt like
it was full so I guess I owe her an apology Embarassed

That's interesting. I really like Epson cus of the scanner I got, seems like a good company. I guess I will have to re-evaluate!

We have more lawyers in the U.S. than anywhere else in the world, they have to sue somebody to make a buck, I guess this time it works out for me a little ($45) but generally speaking lawyers end up costing society more than they contribute, but thats just one mans opinion. Smile
