Im burning cds at 32x speed max and dvds at 8x speed.
So far burning seems OK.

well, tried different burning speeds. No recognizable difference, except that I got one coaster at high speed. I don't think that's a big enough number to be statistically reliable though. Could have been just the one in the batch.

It has been my experience that only if the actual burn fails is there a problem. Other than that, I have never noticed a difference for succesful burns, regardless of the speed.

yeah, but does the burn fail because you burned at high speed? Would there not have been a failure if burnt at lower speed? It's probably a media thing, and likely the rated speed is good( seems to be for the TYs I use now) but maybe it affects cheaper media more? Not sure.

haven't tried Imgburn yet. what is the difference between using that as opposed to the other ones. It's from the DVDdecrypter guy isn't it?
