not a bad movie at all. fast paced and kept my interest. cast was a good fit too. grade: B+

I watched this film about a week ago and have to day i really enjoyed it to. Great special effects.  |

I preferred the old version, myself, but agree that the new effects were nice. Still, I'd rather have the story.
It's like watching the original Planet of the Apes vs. the newer one with Wahlberg. The newer one had great effects, but the older one had a much better story and kicked the new one's *, IMHO. Of course, the original really hit home when it was released, seeing as how the nuclear cloud was one that hung over everyone's head then. I think it loses power now. |

I prefer the original version. Today everything seems to be about special effects and not the story. Everyone can make a Jerry Bruckheimer explosion but can everyone write a smart script? |
