i didn't think it was that great. the action was there, but the movie didn't capture the essence of the series imo even tho michael mann was involved. i'm not sure that colin ferrel was the best actor for crockett - he WAS vice, afterall. i always like to look at gong li tho (bad geisha gal in "memoirs of a geisha"). grade - B

I was looking forward to seeing Miami Vice, but like blackhawkdown says I too was diaappointed. The best part was the first five minutes of the movie. This movie was 2 hours and 14 minutes . If it had been 55 minutes and made for television it would have been better. It appeared to me they took a TV episode and drag it out. Just to much wasted time in the movie for me. Micheal Mann where was the music. I knew the characters but for the length of the film there was absolutly no characters building.

I was just watching some of the tv shows on a weekend marathon while waiting at the airport. Couldn't believe how hokey it seems now. My suspension of disbelief was clearly better developed when I was younger. LOL

I didn't really like this flick either.I found myself getting really bored and waiting for it to end.Not a horrible flick though, just not really enthralling.
