Sad News

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.

Shut up. You know it's funny.
Now send it on to someone else and make them smile.

Yes, but you must admit, it is funny.

Anyone that has ever been to a wedding reception in the U.S. knows of the Hokey Pokey, its a standard dance song that is played towards the end of the reception when most guest are a bit anebriated and don't mind looking silly on the dance floor. Larry really did write the Hokey Pokey and passed on in 1996, the joke about him and his song was written shortly after, for a man that could write a song as silly as the Hokey Pokey I think he would of also seen the humor in the joke about it.
