One would think that the excellent cast was picked for their uniform inability to either sing or dance. I mean, it was really terrible. Meryl Streep running around ripping her hair out from scene to scene didn't help. This movie was all over the place.
Despite all that, for whatever reason the movie wasn't completely lacking in charm, and if you liked the music to start with then you might enjoy it. I'd never watch it again, but despite its obvious and gigantic flaws I can't bring myself to hate it. I think it was just the perverse enjoyment of enjoying the stars floundering around through the hugely contrived musical scenes, which, while sad, was still kind of fun to watch. |

Well I watched this last nite.... or I should say my better half did, I got part way through and had to leave. All I can say is what were they thinking when they made this... and what was Brosnan thinking when he signed on?!?!?! What a horrific mess. I'll never be able to watch him in a Bond movie again!! And do I get a refund for the dinner I lost? Grade..... E- _________________ For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble. |
