I am just now learning how to print covers from adobe photoshop but have a question.
I can print the cover at 3240 x 2175 in landscape on LEGAL paper and it comes out almost perfect.
my question is.....
how can i print them on 8 1/2 x 11 paper and have it come out the right size. There has to be a trick of some sort and i just can't figure it out.

Some printers allow for a larger printing area on standard paper when you select "Thick Stock."
Always select “Print With Preview”
You want to manually adjust the position of the image rather than aligning it automatically.
Center it as accurately as possible and print. You may get a warning message but proceed anyhow.
If it doesn't print properly, the limitation is in your printer, not the software.

| I always put a check mark in the "Expand to fit media" box, and it prints perfectly on my Epson R-200. |

All printers have specific bounderies they print within on given types and sizes of paper. When you use the "Expand to fit media" option when printing on standard paper it will actually reduce the cover size in order fit the image on the paper, or is some cases, make the image too big. I base this on my experience in printing over 600 covers.

| The R-200/R300 printers will allow you to print to within about 1/8 of an inch from the top and bottom edges of standard 8.5 X 11 inch paper. |

hmmm...i print with photo shop and never check the expand to fit media box......if the cover is the right siz in the first place and you slect A4 paper it prints out lovely.
