watched WOLF CREEK the other night. very AVERAGE.

am i the only one that thinks the term "UNRATED" is just another way to increase DVD sales? Does UNRATED even mean anything anymore??? I think they should have to specifically reveal what the differences are from the theatrical release. this was another movie that i couldn't imagine anything NOT being in the theater. and for a "slasher/horror" movie, it really came up short on gore. i thought HORROR movie....UNRATED....this is gonna be a bloodfest! left me very disappointed. i think there needs to at least 10 brutal killings to qualify as a horror movie....or a few gallons of blood at least!

i'm afraid that hostel is going to be the same way..i've been waiting to see it for so long, that i'm thinking it's going to disappoint.

I saw Wolf Creek this weekend too. eh.. I thought it was a typical slasher "gore" movie. The movie fustrated me when the character chooses the STUPIDEST decisions and impossible scenarios that would never happen in a real kidnap/killing thing. I didn't hate the movie, but I definetly didn't enjoy it. I thought this movie was like Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Both duds.

see, i'd have to disagree there...i loved TCM. to me, wolf creek was a poor man's version of that. there was a lot more suspense in TCM. now, i'm not going on the stand to defend anything past the original TCM, but the original, to me, is a classic.

Been watching a lot of old movies lately. Running scared, fX and FX2 great stuff. I'm planning to do a 80's weekend soon with just 80's film.

Most of the newer films I've seen lately are just rubbish. Boring old hash ups of classics. Remakes and sequels are becoming the norm now if a film make a profit bang the story line to death

Just watched "The Man", it was pretty funny. Eugene Levy is such a geek in this one, he cracks me up.

Also watched "Prime"...you can skip this one, not that good.

I just watched Hostel and Silent Hill.
Ehhhh... Hostel was an unnescessary movie. All it is is cutting off limbs, slicing and dicing things, human remains, dark rooms, squirting blood. If you don't like a good story then watch it. It has plenty of gore, sex, beautiful girls, and more sex.

Silent Hill was better than I thought though. Nice cgi and environment to the movie. Story was ok. I didn't play the game so I don't know how much of the game was in the movie. It was just ok, better than Resdient Evil though. Overall, it was enjoyable, not horrible, but not great. 2 3/4 out of 5

Just saw Thank You for Smoking this afternoon. Great satire film, if you liked Bulworth you will like this film also. Aaron Eckhardt is very good in this.

seems that HOSTEL is getting some strange reviews. I'm baffled by anyone who went into this movie thinking they were getting an oscar nominated drama. It was advertised as a slasher/gore movie....and it came through in fine fasion! I finally got around to watching this, and it was great from start to finish. it took a little longer to get to the gore part, but it filled in with beautiful naked women to help pass the time. Wink

if you like slasher flicks, this is a must.

I've been doing a lot of traveling lately - heading out again tomorrow morning and I'll take Hostel and Irresistable with to watch on the airplane. I just watched an old favorate: the Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it.

Thanks for the various inputs on the "latest" movies.

I just got back from a business trip and watched Irresistable on the plane and Hostel one night at the Hotel. I'm in agreement with True - Irresistable was OK. As far as Hostel goes, I thought the story line was interesting, acting not the best (but I didn't expect too much) and the girls very interesting. I'm glad I chose the other move for the plane ride Shocked .

On the way home I watched the Ice Harvest, yes I use headphones and am somewhat discrete if someone is sitting next to me. Wink I enjoyed the movie.

I watched "Das Experiment" the other day...
A "strong" film, based on a true story...
Not an easy film but it was really worth seeing

I watched ICE HARVEST. Not a bad movie. typical thief/double cross type movie. but it was entertaining. 7 out of 10.

Also, finally got around to watching KING KONG. That was very well done. the CGI was friggin incredible! Altough I don't like Clive Owen, I could handle him in this movie. 10 out of 10.

Just watched Memento. My friend reonmended it to me, oh 4 years ago. I just watched it and it was outstanding. The movie is about a guy with short term memory so the movie is kind of like in reverse chronological order. Definetly a different approach to a movie. First 10 minutes you are like wtf, really confused, kind of like the character himself! Things slowly puzzle together.
