This is a question I found on another forum. I thought it would help to let people know more about each other.

Snips came from one of the tools I use in the sheetmetal trade and was closely associated to scissors which I felt had a connection to creating labels. The 71 is from the year I was born.

tkboxer is: TKB (my initials) and Boxer, the breed of dogs I have had the pleasure to care for the last 30 years.
Some think it is for "tko or technical knockout boxer" but it has nothing to do with the sport of boxing.

I'm a huge racing fan, NASCAR mostly. And anyone that knows NASCAR would know where my nick comes from. I first used it many years ago when I started a racing channel on IRC. I was a Dale Earnhardt fan from the time he entered the sport until he died, andnow follow his son.

Go Dale!!!

well, mine doesn't need explaining to those that know the NHL. For those that aren't familiar....I'm a big hockey fan (National Hockey League). And from my avatar you'd think i was from philly...you would be wrong. I'm from Pittsburgh...a huge rival of the pittsburgh penguins from back in the Patrick Division days. growing up i was always trying to be different...one way was to root for the teams that all my friends hated. and it just stuck since. i've grown to like the pittsburgh teams as well.

and with the playoffs right around the corner....LETS GO FLYERS!

"smudger" was the nickname often used for anyone whose name was Smith and my father was called by it from his school days. I just inherited it; first got called it, back in the '50s, by my old history teacher, who also knew my father.
I don't know the origin of the name; the dictionary doesn't help much and Googleing it just says it is the name of a font family, the name of a DirectX plugin, the name of a "Thomas the Tank Engine" character and is defined on the WordSpy website as:

smudger (noun). A person who uses smudging—a process based on a Native American ritual for exorcising evil spirits—to rid a dwelling of "negative energy." Surprised Confused

Perhaps another member here knows more; I'm sure there are several Smith's as members of this forum. Cool

First name = Rich. Deadeye = good shot. In my early years I was very good at hitting whatever I aimed at. It didn't matter if it was with guns, bow and arrows, pool stick, darts, rubber bands or spitballs. Now the nickname is even more appropriate since I lost a lot of my vision in my aiming eye due to glaucoma. Very Happy
