a stephen king movie in the vein of "the shining." an author who writes about haunted houses and the like is given the spooking of his life when he insists on seeing about the scary room 1408 of the dolphin hotel. this movie is similar to the shining in that one man takes on the ghosts by himself. one of the better king movies out in a while. grade: A-
