another mel gibson "epic." this one features a warrior who must over come being captured by a rival tribe who wants to offer him up for a sacrifice to the gods. he manages to escape, save his wife and defeat the bad guys (of course). the movie is set in a mayan jungle and the scenery is great. grade: B.

I usually dont like to watch movies where I have to read the subtitles, but thought I would give it a try and I really enjoyed it

worth a watch. All the uproar about the violence in the movie was a bit overstated, I think. While it was without question a violent movie it wasn't any more violent than many other movies out there. A good timekiller but not a classic by any means.
