Is anyone else annoyed about DVD Profile v3.

Ive been quite happyly using V2, but they are now not updating the database with latest releases forcing an upgrade to V3.
Don't get me wrong V3 is very nice, but limits your online database to just 50 films on a free subscription!!!!
are there any alternatives out there or am i gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a registration???

It's worth it.

Heck, I bought a registration even before I had to. $35 seems like a small price to pay for software that I've been using for 3+ years and will probably use for many more.

I haven't updated my list in some time! Embarassed

But, does it do anything other than profile your DVD collection? It seems a little much for such a program. I guess if you use it and it's really helpful to you, why not ... if you have the money. And if my memory serves me well, I think you get higher res images if you pay.

You do get higher res images and there's some other features that I don't remember.

The big thing now is that you pretty much have to upgrade to continue. The 2 creators of Profiler (IIRC) had somewhat of a falling out and one of them took over Profiler (after a court battle) early this year. He updated profiler and part of the update was a need to become a paying member if you wanted to have more than 50 DVD's (or something like that). He basically changed it from a somewhat hobby into actual income and members need to pay the one time fee to use the product.

As I said, to me $35 isn't a big deal. That's been about $10 per year for me so far and I intend to use it for many more years (unless it goes bye-bye, which I doubt) so the value is there for me.
