I have found that if I verify 5-6 continuous seconds in the last chapter or end credits then I know I have a good disc. I have found in my own personal experience that weird pixellation or other probs always show up at the very end provided the disc itsel isn't damaged.

What about you guys? How do you verify?

I just pick a random chapter and play it also I changed the burning capacity to 4400mb that way I'm not burning out to the edge of the disk where the recording surface might not be as reliable.

I think he means viewing the last chapter as opposed to verifying as part of the post burn process. I don't do any viewing or verifying. Since I have been using Verbatim disc and burning to them with Nero, I can't remember the last time I made a coaster. Every time I see a good deal on another brand of disc I think maybe.... then I say to myself, no... stick with what you know works for you every time. Smile

I have found pixies at beginning, middle and near end of some discs, so checking just the end may not always tell you of probs.....luckily, I have not had probs with any of my discs for some time....as B oxer says, stick with what works for ya.... Very Happy

Yeah, since I've started using TYs I have only had 2 discs that have been a problem out of about 1000. i guess memories of those earlier discs linger with me, because the titles that I've hard trouble finding I always verify before clearing from my drive or returning the discs. new releases I don't bother checking, unless the compression ratio is high. if something is wrong then i'll just get it again. Easy to find so no big deal.
