Well, this movie is pretty much exactly what you expect it to be. It's light-hearted, with combinations of action, humour, and the inevitable jokes about an ageing Indy.
What's different about this installment of the series is that the sequences seem a little contrived. The movie seems to be geared to act as a series of scenes, geared to maximize viewing the scenery or viewing the action, and the results are often pretty predictable, as is the dialogue. The story flow really isn't there, and the premise is a little weak to start with, as is the rather flat ending. Karen Allen looks terrible, Cate Blanchett is a pretty laughable cartoon of a russian femme fatale, but there's pretty good interaction with Ford and Labeouf. People who remember Brando movies will immediately recognize Labeouf's intro into the movie.
It's not as good as the earlier installments, but it's still an ok watch. For all that I'm criticizing here it's really more in comparison to the earlier ones, which were crisper, more engaging and more blood-stirring. As a stand alone movie it's just as good as many of the action movies and still watchable. It's an ok movie, just not the great movie we were all waiting and hoping for. |

I would agree, it was entertaining but not a great action movie. _________________ No matter how many times you try...you can't clone the dirt off your screen. |

I'm going to disagree with the above. I thought this movie was very good. If you went looking for a good action flick, I woul dhave to question why. I mean after all Ford is fast approaching 70 years of age.
if you wiegh the movie strictly on it's own merits and forget the other 3, and in my opinion 2 was completly forgettable, then I would have to rate this one a solid B+ - A-.
it followed in the vein of the others, and they were every bit as predictable.
Looking forward to this on DVD _________________ For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble. |

You'll notice that I said that as a stand alone movie, disregarding the previous versions, it's as good as much of what's coming out now, so you're not really disagreeing with me. |

This movie should've been made 10 yars ago. Now it's stupid, boring and pointless. And it SUCKS so hard I've developed a Turette Syndrome watching it.
I think it's time for Mr. Ford to take Sir Connery's advice and retire from motion pictures. Or start playing dads in family movies. He's way too old to be weilding a gun and a whip. He might dislocate his hip. Or shoulder. |
