Interesting note, this is the first film made by Sherwood Pictures which is actually owned and operated by a Baptist church in Georgia. They made this first film on a $20,000 budget. When it came out they advertised through word of mouth and had group ticket sales so it could get shown in theaters.
The film was a financial success and proved to the church that film making would be another ministry of the church.
Their second film, Facing the Giants, is based around a high school football team examines relationships on personal and community level. It had a much larger budget and saw wide distribution.
Their third film, Fireproof is in theaters now, looks at the personal relationship of husband and wife, marriage and divorce.
Final note, everyone involved in a Sherwood film volunteers their time and talents.
