Wasn't sure what to expect for this one. The cover made it look like a fairly silly comedy, but the general buzz around the movie had been fairly positive.

In watching the movie I found that it was really a human movie, and not really a comedy, although it had funny moments, and definitely not an action flick. The previews depict silliness and gunfights, but the truth of the matter is that it's a fairly serious movie below the surface, and that's there's a lot of texture and complexity to the characters, which were extremely well acted. There's also basically no action until the end, which is also more of a statement than an action sequence per se. The movie relies more on character development than action in order to move the plot forward.

People really looking for something heavy on either action or comedy probably shouldn't pick this movie up off the shelf to satisfy that urge, but although it's a slow movie there's a lot happening in terms of people, and every single character is interesting in some way. I'd recommend seeing it when you're in this frame of mind.

I think that the biggest problem movies have nowdays are the undecisive marketing people. For crying out loud can't they just decide what kind of movie it is? The trailers are often misleading but wit hthis movie they really go too far. I also expected something in the lines of SWAT but was totally surprised at the end. It's a good movie worth watching.
