Well, it's seems like it should be right, the cast is right, the story is good, there's some thoughtful moments in there, and the western elements are present, but for whatever reason this movie falls kind of flat. It just seems like the flavour is off a little bit all the time, except for Viggo Mortensen, who looks like he belongs in the movie. Everybody else just seems a bit off, Harris in particular seems to vaccilate at odd moments in his character, and the feelings that you should have for the various parts of the movie just don't seem to develop.

Without changing a thing (despite some obvious flaws) except the direction this could have been a very good movie, but as it is it's nothing more than average, and is just watchable.
