There's good things and bad things about this movie. Terence Howard puts in a very good performance, most of the other characters also act fairly solidly, and the fight scenes have a much stronger feel of realism than is usual for your standard Hollywood punch-up. The bad things are that, realism aside, the fights are also less interesting to watch than many other fight sequences, and I at least was never really convinced that the lead character was really the contender that he was supposed to be, nor that his final opponent was the badass he was supposed to be. Some of the other story situations can feel contrived or unrealistic (especially the ending), and the romance completely lacks credibility. This is also a story that you've all seen before, and there's no surprises there either.

It wasn't a bad movie to watch, but I can't get much above "meh" as a rating. Maybe a C+

The hero sucks. But what can you expect from Duke Hauzer in G.I.Joe: Rise of Cobra.
