Well, it can't be a romantic comedy because, hey, despite the premise there's no romance and no coupling. You'd love to say that it's about self-discovery, but even though Bullock's character realizes the value of being unique she never realizes just how uniquely annoying she is.

Bullock plays a character that's just impossible to like, and is just annoying to look at, especially since the youngish, giddy character she's playing is better suited to a 20 year old as opposed to somehow who just looks old playing the quirky nitwit she's supposed to be. It just doesn't work, and unfortunately that's 80% of the movie. The upside is that the news guys are really funny, so if you just fast forward through all of Bullock's scenes ( I actually did this in parts)and just watch the news guys then you've got a pretty funny 10-15 minute short. Still, despite those moments being good it doesn't make up for the cost of the rental price for the rest of this torturous movie. grade C-/D
