with Verhoeven back at the wheel I was expecting a lot more grit and action than what we did see. Instead of the political messages making you think these were designed almost solely to make you laugh. The action was sub-standard for the genre, and was too short. The budget was obviously too small, and what they were clearly saving it up for at the end didn't last anywhere near long enough to redeem the flick. The dialogue was often ridiculous, and the main character was absent from view for 1/2 the movie.
You guys can safely miss this one and better invest your time somewhere else. |
