Only thing I know for relative sure is that 2010 is a lot less resource hog than 7 was. Haven't tried 13 yet.

I've used 10 before. The RTM versions. Currently using 2007 as I get it free from work, and yeah on the laptops at work I tested 10 was a lot quicker. They haven't decided to upgrade yet, as they are not sure where we're going from XP, and maybe XP is the whole reason why 07 is so slow, not sure on that one.

As an example I did a test on my work laptop and my home PC, and the difference in opening just Outlook 2007 was substantial. Now I know my home PC is a lot better than work and I have an SSD, but when I say substantial I'm talking 15 seconds.

With 10 it was considerable less. Maybe 6 seconds.
