I used to buy Arita 8x as well, but since no shop could guarantee the Ricoh media code anymore (they are manufactured with a Ritek media code as well, which suck in my Plextor burner), I use Ricoh 8x now. They're a little bit more expensive (€ 37,- per 100 pcs.), but they never fail me!

I've used any and all of the following:

LINKYO 8x hub printable - $25/100
Prodisc 8x hub printable - $25-$30/100
Ritek 8x hub printabl - $30-$35/100
Taiyo Yuden 8x hub printable - $40-$45/100

TY is one of the best available in what i've read and experienced. I've also used 4X non printables from Ritek and TY in the past. but have since upgraded the drive and printer.

I'm currently using TY 8x printables. the only downside...their print surface isn't as nice as the others. oh well. i'm more concerned with quality playback than top notch picture on disc. Smile

I use Ridata/Ritek hub inkjet printable. depends on the deal of the week, they run me btw 33 to 35 for a 100/pack. That's including shipping. I was having alot of trouble with the newer 8x ridata inkjet with my pioneer dvr108. I was getting coasters left and right. Then I updated the firmware to 1.12 and it is burning perfectly fine now.

I always used Platinum + 8X (RICOHJPN 02) 100 st. for 30 á 35 euro.
But they changed mediacode (RITEK Evil or Very Mad )
and the official Ricoh + 8X (RICOHJPN 02) 100 st. are 46 euro. Confused

So currently i'm using Datawrite + 4X (RICOHJPN 01) 100 st. for 33 euro.
I patched my DvD-burner so i can burn them at 6 or 8 speed ! Cool

The prices incl. delivery if you buy more than 120 euro.

that could end up posing a problem after a while. the reason is, when it's burning, the disc gets VERY hot...that could potentially affect the ink...possibly damaging the laser/lens?

I always burn them and then print them. The program I use for printing says not to use the disc in a player etc for 24 hours after printing, so print them last to be on the safe side

I always burn the disc first and then run a quality check with Nero CDspeed/disc quality
test before I print them. That way if I do happen to get a coaster which doesn't happen
very often with the Verbatim discs but if I do get one then I don't waste any ink on it just
a disc so it is better to be safe than sorry. Very Happy

I always burn first then print. I have been getting too many coasters lately that I dont' want to waste ink on a bad disc.

I try to stay with a brand Ridata, Memorex, Maxwell or TDK.
I always buy in bulk to get cost between $15 to $19 per 100. Their speed can be anywhere from 4X to 16X. I don't see the need for speed after 4X as it take 13 minutes to burn and 4 minutes at 16X.

I get DVD-R 4.7GB 8X Silver Shiny Top Bulk from www.shop4tech.com They charge $28.00 USD for 100 discs, and free shipping. I've used at least 6 orders (600 disc) I haven't had any problems with them.
