I don't have any DVDs split into two other than my "The Transformers" boxsets. Kind of can't blame them since there are so many.

Did they do that with "Lost - Season One" ? I rented those, and there were like 7 discs, I believe. So many!

i think most of the cartoons are going to be split up like that. there are TONS of episodes for 'em.

but, a tv show...that's absurd! they did it with Sex and the City for the last season.

then it's taken to another level when they sell the FINAL EPISODE by itself, even before the release of the season itself.

That's crazy. I haven't seen it in any of the TV shows I have on DVD except for the animated Superman cartoon.

The one i remember is EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND. The final episode was available on DVD last may. Yet, of the nine seasons that aired, only six are released.

geez, talk about a cheap way to make an extra $20. I'm glad they didn't do that with the Friends DVDs.

I think they did this for a reason with BG. The 2.0 DVD set was released before the full season had aired (at least in Canada it was). So, you could buy half of the season before the full season was aired.

Besides, the set was cheap in comparison to other DVD box sets so it's not like you're paying for a full season and only getting half.

It's not the seasons are split in two, but they sell you a separate pilot for the series. Like Crime Story or Twin Peaks. On the other hand, cartoons are split that way not just because of the numerous episodes but because kids buy them. Meaning that no kid will stop watching a cartoon only after a few episodes and somebody has to pay for it. Especially now when saturday morning matine has died.

Anyway, number of discsw is very different in every country. Like... Deadwood season 1, Region 1 (USA/Canada) has 6 DVDs. Same show but Region 2 (Europe) has 4! What the hell?

I haven't seen any of that here (Canada)for the TV shows, and have been able to get full seasons of everything. They don't alwayscome out as fast as I want them though. Smile
