Can anybody explain the following?

A few months ago scanned several covers and they were alright. Scanned new covers like the last time and nearly all of them were wrong (there are now by pending and then failed)

I haven't changed the settings? Even tried one with Moire-reduction on for removing specs. Followed the tutorial wich was standing on this side.

Have u read the reject reasons?

if there are foldlines then take a big phonebook and put it on the cover and scan it again.

the site is getting bigger and bigger, so the quality must be perfect.

like i said doing the same thing each time. Can't always get rid of fold lines even with a bigger and heavier book.

I'd venture to say that EVERY scan done, whether it be by a pro or novice, needs some intervention. If you have Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop, you'll need to manually do some things to the cover.

1. most important scan at 600 dpi
2. straighten out the cover! use a "guide line" near a text row to see if you're straight.
3. then basically clean up work...ie dust, spine, corners, text replacing, etc etc.

If a cover just isn't coming out right, you may want to do a "CONVERT". take the main pictures and copy them, and start a cover from scratch using the original cover art. Best example is my THEY CALL ME BRUCE cover. take a look at that. The only thing that is not from scratch is the cover art, and the screen caps on the back.

hope that helps.
