|
|
Not looking for refill systems or anything that capacity - just replacement cartridges. Do I need to stick with only EPSON brand replacement inks? I ordered a set of "compatible", but not OEM, on Ebay: 2 sets of refills, .99 plus 19.99 shipping. Am I a chump? After making fun of the ink-challenged (AKA curly headed fat kid ), are there some recommendations out there for getting the best deal on replacement cartridges? |

I buy "compatiables" from ebay too. Some sellers have shotty ink carts and some have good ones. Once you get a good batch just stick to the same seller. |

On this, does the R200 mentioned on the website mean a 200 series/family, of which the 220 is a member? Or just a model - R200?
that is correct. a friend of mine has the R220 and he uses this ink. |

Here you go a great deal on ink this is the brand I'm using in my R200 and I'll have to admit it looks as good or even better
than the genuine Epson ink IMO and a whole lot cheaper for a full eight ( 8 ) set of carts.
48-Pack Ridisc Cartridge $55.20 and FREE shipping

I usually buy compatibles from a local shop and they sell them at £35 for 5 sets of 6. But the more you buy the cheaper you get them. |

I ordered the ink from Meritline that daripper suggested last week for my R220.Should be showing up very soon to test them out.I ordered thier one sided(thin)Matte paper too to test it out.I think it was $25 for 1000 sheets...great deal if it produces good prints comparable to heavyweight paper. |

Let me know what you think of the print quality of that paper. At 2.5 cents per sheet thats a screamin' deal if you like it. _________________ No matter how many times you try...you can't clone the dirt off your screen. |

Will do....I've been paying full price for Epson heavyweight matte paper for a long time now.I found some off brand one sided thin matte paper at Big Lots a while back that printed the exact same as the heavyweight stuff when held side by side....but I only bought one pack of it and never saw the deal again.
*EDIT*
My order is showing up Oct. 3rd.....I payed with a money order so it's taking a while, but I'll update then.

Also curious to find out about their matte paper. I got a pack of their glossy paper for free with an order of ink and it was just horrible. |

I use the Matte case inserts myself from Meritline and they print very nice.
The only thing is I had a hard time getting them to print the right size for
the first few I used until I started using their template.

Well,I got my shipment yesterday.I re-filled the printer with the Meritline inkjets and printed out about 30 covers on the one-sided matte paper.I gotta say that this paper is not too bad at all.Of couse the paper is a lot lighter weight than heavyweight matte paper so it kinda feels cheaper because it slides around in the case a bit and isn't near as stiff as heavyweight...but the print quality is very good for the price.I did a side by side comparison with the last cover that I printed on Epson heavyweight matte paper with another print on this lightweight paper and it was very close.I did this x-men 3 cover:

The bright red does "pop" a bit better with the heavy stuff, but the detail is right on the mark.If I had a decent diggy camera I'd take pics..I'm pretty anal about how my dvd collection looks and these prints are pretty damn good for the price. |

Thanks for the update, I shop at Meritline often so I'll check it out next time I need to order. _________________ No matter how many times you try...you can't clone the dirt off your screen. |

Been buying my ink off this guy for 2 years. I buy 100 at a time for $1 a cartridge. 200 and 220 is the same ink.
I also buy my canon IP3000 ink from him
http://www.edealsee.com/index.php?cPath=36_48
in 2 years no problems |
you have to buy 100 of one color? looks like only black is sold that way. |
