Thanks guys, i'm looking into a new processor fan, i only have the standard one, anyone had any experience with water cooling?
by the way the last couple of days the temp here has dropped about 5 degrees and my pc is fine Confused

I used to have summertime overheating problems (no AC and upper 90 degree F. outside temps) until I bought a Koolance Exos water cooling unit, two summers ago. It is an external unit and very easy to install. At the time it cost about $230.00 U.S. and came with a both a AMD and Intel waterblock. Since then Koolance has come out with the Exos 2. It costs more, $340.00 list price, has 2 120mm fans vs. my 3 90mm fans and does not come with waterblocks. I read in this months Maximum PC magazine that Koolance has come out with another $200.00 unit called the Exos LT and they rate it very high. Since I bought my Exos, my CPU rarely gets over 100 degrees F. and the fans rarely ratchet up from low flow. The unit and my PC are very quiet. Before, I installed 5 extra fans on my case to keep my CPU temps between 130 and 140 degrees F. My PC sounded like my Sears Craftsman Shop Vac. Koolance gets excellent reviews for performance and ease of installation. Maximum PC rated it a 9 and gave it their "Kick A$$" award.

You could also try this. I just read in (PC World?) where they rated cases for temp and performance, and this one won hands down, for the coolest case and the best performance. The 120 mm top venting fan helps. I have the Antec SOnata 2 but will be upgrading to this shortly.

firewall is disabled and won't re-enable, DHCP is not working.

To this end i'm using my spare PC an old P3 667mhz, maybee i should stick with this one, never giveas any trouble.

My PC is housed in a Antec Sonata. I bought it at Fry's Electronics. Another great product. Very quiet with it's 120 mm fan. I did upgrade the power supply with a Antec 550 watt unit.

WOOOHOOO, fixed my internet problem, i cleaned out a virus which had damaged winsock......the cure was to remove the winsock registry entries and reinstall TCP/IP Shocked

worst of all i have to congratulate the microsoft knowledge base - thats where i found the fix........

just got to sort out my overheating probs now Wink

Another thing to check is the power supply itself...my system looked clean but was running really hot.....the power supply was full of dust. Opened it up and cleaned it out, good as gold!

Thanks for everyones advice, all sorted now, had a good clean out, replaced 3 small HD with 1 large, fitted a cheap n chearfull water cooling kit (that was fun) and found i has a bad RAM chip (had to be the biggest one Evil or Very Mad

) - so other than being a little down on RAM my systems running sweeeeeeet Wink
