|
|
Can anybody recommend any services that operate in Canada besides Zip.ca that would send DVDs by mail? I'm looking for some odd titles that are difficult to find in video stores. Services that have large libraries of titles are of course preferred. I can't use Netflix as they won't deliver in Canada. Thanks. |

i've used BBO and Netflix. Netflix has the bigger library, but doesn't seem to carry alot of the special edition releases.
the key is to be near a hub..here in PGH PA, it takes a day to get to me, and a day to get it back...for both sites. i'm currently using netflix.
kwikflix will send as soon as you notify that they're mailed...and they're alot cheaper. but i've only heard of them from searching. i may give them a shot. |

Yes I've used both Blockbuster and Netflix. I only use Netflix now because with Blockbuster it
took longer to get my movies 4-5 days whereas with Netflix it usually only takes 1-2 days for
them to get here. That is unless they are mailed from the other side of the country if the local
hub doesn't have it in stock then it might take 3-5 days for it to get here. I'd have to say 99.9%
of the time Netflix will mail it out and I receive it the next day. _________________ Site Moderator

thanks guys, but the US options aren't usually available in Canada. Don't know about BBO, but netflix doesn't serve Canada |

Rogers and Zip.ca are the same thing, so that answers that question.
I'm trying Canflix and Starflix too. I'll let you know how they turn out. DVDzap is a french site, which doesn't nother me but might some others. |

Hi tailon. You rate starflix as slow... is it worth doing? Just been looking into something like that myself, so any feedback you can give me would be appreciated. _________________ For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble. |

yes, starflix has been slow with their turnaround, and their website is not particularly user friendly.
Canflix is both slow and has a limited library
Zip.ca has a good library and very quick service, which is nice. The downside with Zip.ca is that they have an additional charge for postage after a certain number of DVDs each month. If you're not careful then that can add up to quite a bit. They do give you the option of whether they should send those automatically or whether they should query you before each one though, so nothing ever happens that you're not aware of. all in all thy appear to be the best choice in Canada so far. |
