I cant believe this film won so many awards and keeps being referred to as a "masterpiece". It was entertaining for about the first hour, then it just felt like the writers got lazy and threw an ending together.

That is usually the way I find the shows that get all the awards go. Very very very seldom do I ever like anything that is a major awards winner.

I haven't seen it yet so maybe I'll just have to pass on this one then.

Well, overall I was dissatisfied with this one too. It wasn't because it was boring. I liked the way that it moved along, and I thought all the sub-text stuff was great. All the stuff that wasn't being said was at least as interesting as what was being said. I thought the acting performances were good too.

The problem I have with this movie is that the ending really was horrific. There was no resolution of anything. I'm sure that was done on purpose but it's the most infuriating thing in the world for me, because I actually did enjoy the movie until the last half hour or so, but leaving all the strands of the story untied pisses me off beyond belief. I get the point of the movie too. I understand the moral, but I could give a goddamn about the moraL I wanted the damned story to be satisfying, but it wasn't, without the ending. I understand that the moral means that they can't tie the story together but I'd rather they ditched the effing moral and gave us the story instead. Movies like this really piss me off. What a waste.

The film could have been great but was mediocre at best because of the ending. If you don't handle disappointment well, skip this film.

I decided to go ahead and rent it and watch it and see if it was really as bad
as everyone says it is and all I can say is Tommy Lee Jones should really be
ashamed of himself for even doing this movie. Shocked
