Pull out your old school cardboard 3D glasses (included with the DVD) and sit back to watch this family flick. Well, the 3D gets a little tiring on the eyes after a while, but there's still some pretty cool stuff that jumps out at you. this is strictly for novelty though, and the DVD boasts a 2D version that's more watchable and less straining. Still, it's kind of fun watching the bugs and yo-yos hop off the screen, if you don't mind a greenish tinge to everything.
As for the film itself, it was kind of fluffy in a Brendan Fraser kind of way that most of his films are, and is nothing more than a kids aventure, but it's still watchable, and as long as you switch your suspension of disbelief button on (this is a kid oriented flick after all) then you'll be ok watching the very basic action and storyline. Not a film classic by any stretch, but as long as you're watching it at home you won't leave your couch demanding your money back either. |
