Public Enemies

For all the big stars and the larger than life story behind this movie I thought the whole thing was a little bit bland. Depp and Bale both seem to have been directed to be as wooden as possible. Kind of of the antithesis of the passionate characters both were supposed to have been. Standard shoot 'em ups and cliched colloquialisms of the time. It wasn't a bad watch, and you won't have wasted your time doing it, but I was expecting a lot more than what was delivered, with more depth, and for all the supposed drama and the very heavy-handed musical score the ending was fairly anti-climactic. Maybe a C.
