a friend of mine is of the opinion that within two or three years, no more discs (dvds) of any sort will be manufactured. i hope he's wrong.... i'll be buying all the $1 dvds i can find.
he's also thinking that since the traitorous netflix is putting all of the bandwith onus onto the isps that we will see a larger bill for our high speed via a usage based fee plan. #*^& that! i am beginning to hope all of these streaming outlets (netflix) fail and go under so that they can see the ways of their greediness...... ::: hops off the soap box :::

It is estimated that 20% of U.S. net traffic in prime time is Netflix streaming.
There are many entities that are concerned with this trend, they would include the content providers themselves (the studios) cable TV providers feel they will lose subscribers at to patrons switching to a combination Netflix streaming and OTA broadcast network TV which is now HD and free.
Large ISP's such as Comcast are not happy with the increased traffic and cost associated with it.
Content licensing and Net Neutrality will have a large role to play in this situation, it will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next year or two. _________________ No matter how many times you try...you can't clone the dirt off your screen. |
